Underactive Thyroid

Underactive Thyroid

Can it cause hair loss? There are two ways to answer that: yes it can and yes it does.
Your thyroid controls your metabolism so when it stops you put on weight, lose hair, feel fatigued, stop answering your phone, shout at your neighbours etc.

Here is a fantastic quote from The Better Health Channel.
"
Some of the more common hormonal disorders are associated with the thyroid gland, which is part of the endocrine system. This system is a collection of glands that secrete chemicals called hormones directly into the bloodstream. Together with the nervous system and the immune system, the endocrine system helps the body to cope with different events and stresses.

The thyroid gland is situated at the front of the throat, below the larynx (Adam’s apple), and comprises two lobes that lie on either side of the windpipe. The thyroid gland secretes hormones to regulate many metabolic processes, including growth and energy expenditure. If the thyroid gland is overactive or sluggish, the metabolism will be affected, leading to a variety of symptoms that are easily misdiagnosed. Around one in 20 people will experience some form of thyroid dysfunction in their lifetime. Women are more susceptible than men."
Prince William Hair Loss

See that? The symptoms are easily "misdiagnosed" - so why go to a doctor when you can just ask your dopey brother-in-law, the butcher.

Bottom line: Thyroid controls metabolism and metabolism is necessary for the hormones that cause hair growth.

Notice how Japanese menall have good hair? It's all that seaweed. Lots of iodine - just what the thyroid requires!

Alkaline Foods

The Acid/Alkaline Balance and Male Pattern Baldness

or - How to Grow Hair

So...Which is better for your hair - acidic food or alkaline food?
Alkaline food.

How do we know that?
Two words. Anthony Robbins. He balances his body on the alkaline side.

What's wrong with leaning towards the acidic side?
Nothing, as long as you like cancer.
Dude, I  LOVE can...actually - no I don't
!

Can gluten grow my hair? What if I apply it topically?
No. no. A thousand times no.

I'm a big fan of fast food burgers and fries. That stuff is alkaline, right!
Wrong! Totally acidic!!

So if I were to ask 'How to Grow Hair?' you would answer, 'With an alkaline diet!', right?
I probably would. I would not recommend an acidic diet for hair growth. Even though your body needs them both. It's all about balance, just like in Star Wars. Darth Vader had no hair whereas his son, Luke, had lots of it - it probably didn't hurt that Star Wars was filmed in the seventies.

What are some ways we can alkalise the body?
Apple cider vinegar, chlorophyll etc. You should look into it.
Symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue

Would you like to know one of the symptoms of adrenal fatigue? Hair Loss - the losing of hair, as we non-doctors call it.

So...what can you do to remind your adrenal glands to get to work again? Will you need a time machine to get back to the age of 18? It wouldn't hurt.
Salt Water. Good quality sea salt in a glass of water. It's all about the electrolytes. The electrolytic fluid that conducts electricity around the body.

Saltwater will revive your adrenal glands and remind them to make progesterone, which fights DHT...and wins.
